Jacqueline Aamodt

Hi, I'm Jackie Aamodt and I was born and raised in Barrow. My heart is to see people made whole in mind, spirit and body with natural medicines and the reconnection to God's love. I want to be an advocate to raise up healthier generations who know and believe they lived life to the fullest.

Jerica Aamodt

Jerica Niayuq Aamodt is an Iñupiaq from Barrow, Alaska. In April 2012 she received Associates of Arts degrees in Iñupiaq Studies and General Studies with Iḷisaġvik. She is now a junior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, working on her Bachelor's in Alaska Native Studies.

Ken Ascher

Ken Ascher is a first year full time Allied Health and Information Technology student. Using the frequent flyer miles he saved over the last few years to attend a tribal college, Ken commutes to Iḷisaġvik College in Barrow, Alaska from Michigan. Ken serves the public as a firefighter/paramedic/hazardous materials technician, a communications specialist in the National Disaster Medical System and is Chair/CEO of a small business. Appointed to the Washtenaw County Medical Control Advisory Board and the City of Ann Arbor Local Emergency Planning Committee, Ken's interests are emergency medicine, nursing, emergency management, teaching, technology, SCUBA diving and travel.

Yiskah Delisle

Yiskah is originally from Massachusetts, and she holds an A.S. in Visual Art from Holyoke Community College. In her free time she assembles jewelry, sews, knits and dabbles in papercrafts.

Doria Lambrecht

Hello, my name is Doria Lambrecht. I was born and raised here in Barrow, Alaska. I am taking general study courses through Iḷisagvik College and I'm working towards my Associates of Art Degree.

Bonnie Lipan

Bonnie Lipan is a part-time Iḷisagvik student pursuing her AA degree in Iñupiaq Studies. She already has a BBA degree and an MBA degree from a college in Michigan and is a full time Workforce Development Facilitator and Instructor for Iḷisagvik College.

Denise Merat

I have a bachelor's degree in English from Baldwin-Wallace College. I taught high school English for 12 yrs, and I have been teaching developmental English at Iḷisagvik College for the last four years. I have one daughter, Nicole, who recently graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts at Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle. I love writing and hope to get an MFA one day.

Joseph Okakok

Hello my name is Joseph Okakok. I have been taking courses here at Iḷisagvik College to further my education. I am taking General Studies for my degree. I was born and raised in Barrow, Alaska. I have also graduated from Tikigaq High School in 2008.

Austin Parkhill

Austin Parkhill is an artist residing on the North Slope, primarily working in acrylic on canvas and occasionally in photography. He has shown his paintings nationally, receiving honors across the US, as well as within Alaska. Austin is constantly striving to recapitulate rare moments of sincerity in his artwork.

Mary Sage

Mary Aŋŋiaġruk Sage works as the Language Nest Coordinator for Iḷisagvik College's Uqautchim Uglua. She earned a Heavy Truck Operations endorsement from Iḷisagvik College and a bachelor's degree in Rural Development from UAF.
